Don’t Let Your Diet Control You
I used to believe the hype all the different types of ‘crash’ diet that were out there to aid weight loss. I fell foul of trying to follow them.
A controlled diet is not the same as being controlled by your diet. Most dietitians agree that as long as you are eating the correct kind of foods in the correct proportions, it doesn’t matter what you are eating. Forget those sadistic regimes that require you to cut protein or carbohydrates from your meals: this is not at all sustainable; weight loss is just about getting the right proportions at the right time. The key to the correct diet is just having something that you can sustain in the long term and that makes you fit. Simple!
Sometimes getting the right nutrients from food is difficult unless you take some of the less desired aspects along with it. Meat, for example, is a great way to get more protein, but it also comes with more fat than you need. Protein shakes and the like come into their own here. Likewise Acai juice can replenish some of the more obscure vitamins and minerals that your body needs without you having to hunt out strange foods. As a bonus it is delicious.
